- What facilities do you have?
- Facilities do vary between different campsites, but at a minimum we have parking, toilets, hot showers, wood and a shop selling essentials including everything from charcoal to baked beans to marshmallows! Please check the websites of the individual campsites for more detailed information.
- Is there space for my children to play?
- We only use a relatively small proportion of the land available for actual tents so there is always plenty of field space for children to play (so bring your rounders bat!). Take a look at the campsite's map to see the fielded areas which are set aside for traditional games/sports.
- Where can I pitch?
- You can choose where to camp when you arrive, after you check in you are encouraged to go for a stroll and see the available pitches to pick one that suits you best. During busy check-in times we will have someone on site to help you find the best place for you to camp given the amount of tents in your group. We do ask that you listen to the campsite staff with regard to your pitch selection. While we try to be as flexible as possible we do need to take account of large pre-booked groups and various other issues, including land we are resting and conservation areas.
- Do I have to take my rubbish away with me?
- All Camping Unplugged campsites have both general waste bins, and also recycling facilities close to the entrance. We do ask that all your rubbish makes its way into the bins and is not left on the campsite which could be dangerous for both fellow campers but also native wildlife.
- Do I have to carry all my things to my tent?
- We do not expect you to drag all your belongings to your pitch, but like most things, the further you go, the more solitary your pitch will be. Most established pitches allow you to drive your car to the edge to drop off your camping gear, but we do require that all cars are taken out of the woods into designated parking areas. If you camp on the field, you can normally keep your car with you.
- Can I bring my caravan or campervan?
- We cannot accept any caravans, the only campervans we can allow on site are VW campers or transit van size campers (they must fit in a regular car parking bay). We have no electric hookups or chemical loo waste facilities.
- What do you provide on site in terms of shop and restaurant etc?
- You will have to check the websites of the individual campsites to get an exact answer to this. All campsites have basic supplies but this varies enormously from one to another in line with their own individuality. Please check the individual campsites.
- Can I bring a Gazebo?
- There is no extra charge for Gazebos or a Coleman Shelter. We encourage you to create a comfortable and weather resistant environment.
- Can I bring a separate tent for my kids?
- There is no restriction on the number or size of tents that you bring, although please be reasonable. Thanks.
- I have a large tent, will I be able to find a pitch?
- We have accommodated the largest of tents at all our campsites and with a bit of imagination spaces can be found in the woods to accommodate all of them. Obviously if you prefer, you can pitch them on the field where there is no restriction as to size.
- We are first time campers, are your sites suitable for us?
- Camping Unplugged is all about real camping, but you will be looked after and we can help if you have a problem.
- Do you have security on site?
- Camping Unplugged hopes that our visitors do not need heavy handed supervision. All sites have a Campsite Manager who stays on site overnight. If there is a problem he can be contacted by phone or visited in person.
